Have a look at Todd Boehly signings at Chelsea this season
In the Premier League standings, Chelsea is now in 10th place and has lagged significantly this season. Graham Potter faces a hard challenge because 10 points are separating them from the top four teams. The coach has been under fire as the club has more signings than wins this season.
Full list of Chelsea players signings this season under Todd Boehly and total money spent on transfers
It’s fair to say that Todd Boehly, who took over at Chelsea, has spent almost £340 million on rebuilding the team, and has had more mistakes than hits in the transfer market.
Another signing is on it’s way which is to be the Blue’s one of the most expensive deal. Mykhaylo Mudryk is currently travelling to London on a plane. His future is entering a crucial, concluding phase thanks to Chelsea’s offer of a deal that runs through June 2030.
Following full agreement on the €100 million fee, Chelsea is aiming for a long-term agreement to finalise the arrangements.
1- Raheem Sterling (£49million)
Even if Sterling hasn’t even gone close to matching the performance he showed while playing for Manchester City, it still can be believed he has been Chelsea’s greatest signing from a poor bunch.
The England international has more Premier League goal assists than any other Chelsea player with six. Sterling has the best chance of doing so if any of its summer obtainments come close to living up to their price tags.
2- Benoit Badiashile (£34million)
One of Chelsea’s newest additions in the January transfer window, the French defender will now be charged with improving their results. Even though fans haven’t yet seen him wearing a Chelsea jersey, everything suggests that this is a good obtainment.
At the age of just 21, he has already played close to 150 professional games and considering his background, Chelsea didn’t end up paying that much for him.
3- Omari Hutchinson (Free)
Hutchinson’s departure from Arsenal may have allowed Chelsea to score one of the deals of the century. The 19-year-old still has a ways to go, but his capability is tremendous.
4- Joao Felix (Loan)
Felix’s debut turned out to be less than stellar as a result of his reckless challenge, which resulted in a red card. Despite this, the 23-year-old was Chelsea’s most promising opening against Fulham and offered hints of things to come.
5- Carney Chukwuemeka (£16million)
His six Premier League games this season have all been from the bench, but it is encouraging to see that he is already familiar with the first team. The young midfielder, who is 19 years old, still has a lot to offer.
6- David Datro Fofana (£10million)
Boehly will have made a good bargain if Fofana even comes close to duplicating the 22 goals he scored in his final season with Molde as a Chelsea player.
The 20-year-old might just be good enough to end the Stamford Bridge curse, despite Chelsea’s poor track record when it comes to investing in forwards.
7- Denis Zakaria (Loan)
Prior to being pulled off against Fulham with an injury, the Swiss midfielder finally appeared to be finding his form while wearing a Chelsea jersey. He probably had his best Chelsea performance to yet with this deft footwork against Manchester City.
8- Andrey Santos (£11million)
The 18-year old midfielder is very talented, and time will tell if Chelsea made the right decision in spending their money on him.
9- Gabriel Slonina (£13million)
Slonina was acquired by Chelsea in the summer, and for the balance of the MLS season, he was returned on loan to Chicago Fire. The 18-year-old is currently back in the Chelsea camp and working out with the starting lineup.
10- Cesare Casadei (£15million)
The Italian midfielder, who was given a six-year contract in the summer, is seen as a player with promise. However, things didn’t exactly go according to plan for his Under-21s debut as he was dismissed against Sutton United in an EFL Trophy game.
11- Wesley Fofana (£70million)
The most costly obtainment of Boehly’s career thus far, the French defender hasn’t even come close to justifying his exorbitant price tag. The 22-year-old does, however, have experience on his side and may improve in the years to come.
12- Kalidou Koulibaly (£34million)
The Senegalese defender comes from Italy with a stellar reputation, which he has so far found difficult to match. His occasionally weak play this season was brought to light in Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Manchester City.
13- Marc Cucurella (£58million)
His underlying statistics have suffered greatly this season, almost across the board. Since his time at Brighton, the number of successful dribbles he completes has more than halved, from 1.2 to only 0.4 per game.
14- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11million)
Was this signing really necessary? Aubameyang is still unable to crack the starting lineup, even with Chelsea’s poor goal production this year. To be fair, he has contributed with a few Champions League goals, but except that, it has been a rather terrible deal.
