Inter Miami has a Lionel Messi injury concern!
Lionel Messi Inter Miami MLS injury update, report status and return date news today
Prior to their matchup with the Philadelphia Union in the semifinals, Leo Messi did look to tweak his right ankle during practice on Monday. However, Tata Martino, the head coach of Miami, has downplayed the possibility of the 36-year-old 36-year-old suffering an injury.
Martino claimed that he was only present for a portion of the session because he had a meeting following and was wrapping up his preparations, so he was unable to witness all of what transpired in a pre-match interview before his team’s flight to Philadelphia for the Leagues Cup semi-final versus the Union. But he was certain that everyone would have been astonished if it had been something severe. But he assumed nothing had occurred because everyone was in good health.

Messi has been in sublime form
Following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, Messi has been a revelation for Miami. Since the Barcelona legend came last month, they had won five straight games after going winless in their previous 11 games.
The World Cup winner has eight goals and eight assists in just five games for his new team, helping them advance to the Leagues Cup semifinals. So far, the Argentine’s decision to relocate to the US has proven to be a match made in heaven.
Philadelphia hosts Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup semifinals.
When they play the local Philadelphia Union in a semifinal on Tuesday night in Chester, Inter Miami FC and Lionel Messi hope to continue their fairytale Leagues Cup run. In a quarterfinal at home on Friday night, Miami easily defeated Charlotte 4-0. On paper, however, the Union should be Messi’s Miami’s hardest challenge yet, and it will be just the second time Messi has travelled for this tournament.
After a sluggish start to the season, Philadelphia, which has won the last two regular-season titles in the Eastern Conference, is once again third in those standings. Attacking midfielder Daniel Gazdag is expected to rejoin the Union after missing Friday’s 2-1 quarterfinal victory against Queretaro due to a slight knee sprain. However, Julian Carranza, who leads the league in scoring during the regular season might miss as he strained his hamstring late in that victory.
Miami will attempt to advance to the competition’s final on Tuesday before playing FC Cincinnati in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals on August 24.
