Phillips suffered two strokes six months ago at the age of 90. After suffering from a long illness, Samuel died at his home based in London on the 7th of November 2022 at the age of 98 years.

Leslie Phillips’s Family And Education
Leslie Phillips was born to Cecelia Margaret and Frederick Samuel Phillips who served at Glover and Main, manufacturers of cookers in Edmonton. After the death of his father, he was sent to learn at the Italia Conti Academy. There Samuel attended drama and dance classes.
On the 20th of December in 2013 at 89 years, Leslie Phillips married his third wife Zara Carr after marrying Penelope and Scoular.
Leslie Phillips Professional Career
Phillips made his stage debut as a wolf in Peter Pan with Anna Neagle at the London Palladium. In the 1938 and 1939 seasons, Samuel was promoted for doing the role of John Napoleon Darling alongside actor Jean Forbes-Robertson as character Peter and Seymour Hicks as Captain Hook. Acting allowed Samuel Phillips to earn extra money for his family who had struggled financially after his father’s death.
Phillips made his one of first film appearances in 1938 with the musical comedy Lassie from Lancashire. Later on, he made his further unaccredited appearances in Climbing High in 1938 and The Mikado in 1939, and earlier films made at Pinewood Studios. At the 70th anniversary of the studios in 2006, he made himself one of the earliest actors to have worked there still alive and working for himself.
Samuel resumed his professional acting career as a film player, making appearances in Anna Karenina and Powell and Pressburger’s The Red Shoes in the same year 1948. Phillips’ one of first lead role in a television series was in the sitcom My Wife Jacqueline in 1952 and did several films till 2012.
Further, he was appointed as the Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1998 and In 2012. This was in conjunction with Amazing Journeys Publishing and he also voiced the audiobook Chequered Justice by a former racing driver John Bartlett.
