Len Goodman, a famous English ballroom dancer renowned for being a former “Dancing with the Stars” head judge, passed away at the age of 78.
According to his manager, Jackie Gill, Goodman died on Saturday, three days before his 79th birthday, while being surrounded by his family in a hospice in Kent, England.

In a statement given to the BBC, Jackie Gill said,
It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78.
He added
A much loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him.

Len Goodman was a well-known English ballroom dancer, coach, and dance judge. He has been in the news because he passed away recently at the age of 78.
His real name was Leonard Gordon Goodman. He was born on April 25, 1944, in Farnborough, Kent, England. He was raised by his grandmother in Bethnal Green, east London. Later, he shifted to Blackfen. He did his schooling at Westwood Secondary Modern School in Blackfen.
Len Goodman first married Cherry Kingston, his dancing partner, in 1972. However, they divorced in 1987. Later, he entered into a serious and long-term relationship with Lesley. Together with her, he became the parent of a son named James William Goodman. However, Goodman and Lesley also got separated in later years. In 2012, he married Sue Barrett, who is a dance teacher. They have been married since his death.
He died on April 22, 2023, in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. At the time of his death, he was 78 years old.
His career
Len Goodman began dancing when he was 19 years old. By the time he was in his twenties, he had already won a number of national contests. Along with his partner Cherry, he won the British Exhibition Championships 4 times. Early in the 1970s, he left the entertainment industry.
His big break came in 2004 when, as the lead judge on Strictly Come Dancing, he shot to popularity and quickly rose to the top of television. In addition to hosting the BBC show, he would later take over as chief judge on Dancing With the Stars in the US.
Len Goodman quit Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, but he carried on with DWTS.
