Leicester City sack Steve Cooper
Leicester City have officially sacked their manager Steve Cooper, announcing the decision on Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2024. The decision comes following the recent 2-1 home defeat to Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. The Foxes are currently placed in 16th position in the points table, with the season well underway past the halfway mark. They are just two points above the drop zone after 18th-placed Crystal Palace just recently secured a point against Villa.
Notably, Steve Cooper had just replaced Maresca earlier in the summer after the Italian left to take over at Stamford Bridge. The Welshman formerly managed Swansea City, and just before that took Nottingham Forest up through the Championship play-offs. Following the decision, the club is now on the hunt for their next manager, with several candidates in mind. Under the 44-year-old, the club have managed to secure just 10 points across 12 league games.
