In the final moments, former New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme sealed the win with a six off his first delivery, as the Harbhajan Singh-led Tigers successfully chased down the 188-run target set by the Urbanrisers with an entire over to spare.

2023 Legends League Cricket final Manipal Tigers vs Urbanrisers Hyderabad winner, result, score, & top performers
Mitchell McClenaghan and Pankaj Singh claimed early wickets, dismissing Dwayne Smith and Martin Guptill and reducing the Urbanrisers to 36/2. Rikki Clarke aggressively scored 80 runs off 52 deliveries, while Gurkeerat Singh Mann quickly contributed 64 off 36 balls earlier in the evening. Their dynamic partnership resulted in a century stand, helping Hyderabad rebound after a challenging start.
Robin Uthappa, the wicketkeeper-batsman, established the momentum for his team by scoring 40 runs off 27 balls. Asela Gunaratne played a pivotal role in the Tigers’ triumph, delivering an unbeaten 51 from 29 deliveries, featuring five maximums. Gunaratne formed crucial partnerships with fellow Sri Lankans Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera, aiding the Tigers in their recovery after losing three wickets in quick succession.

Leading the run charts were Smith (234) and Mann (233), with the West Indian holding a slight one-run advantage. Tigers leg-spinner Imran Khan emerged as the top wicket-taker with nine scalps, slightly edging out India Capitals’ Isuru Udana, who also claimed the same number of wickets with a slightly higher average.
For the Manipal Tigers, the victory marked a fairytale ending to their journey, especially considering their last-place finish in the inaugural edition of the tournament. The winner ended up taking home Rs.2 crore while the runner-up received Rs.1 crore.
