Know the new manager odds of Leeds United
Sam Allardyce’s four-game contract with Leeds United came to an end, and the team made the decision to choose a completely different path moving forward. As Sam Allardyce leaves Leeds after four games in charge, the top six candidates for the position are made public.
It was a desperate decision from Leeds to appoint Big Sam.
In a last-ditch effort to win, the Whites recruited the former England manager. Allardyce was given a £500,000 deal with a £3 million survival incentive, but he was unable to perform any miracles. Leeds actually only earned one of the twelve possible points, being relegated from the Premier League quietly.
Despite Leeds United’s relegation from the Premier League after three seasons, Allardyce received little criticism. He actually took over a team that was already mired in the bottom three and obviously headed in only one direction. There was a school of thought that claimed he might be invited to continue on for Leeds’ promotion campaign next year as a result.
Sam Allardyce leaves leads as they have been relegated.
After losing 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at home the previous weekend, Leeds United was demoted to the Championship. After talking with the club, specifically with chief executive Angus Kinnear and advice from the club’s backroom team, the club has decided to modify its course. Allardyce has been informed that he won’t be invited to continue after discussions on Thursday. The club announced the choice on Friday morning.
The Whites have clarified that an announcement on a new coach would be made within the next several weeks, therefore they are currently in a state of limbo over a potential purchase by 49ers Enterprises. The club and Big Sam reached a consensus on the best course of action after a week of discussions.
The Club statement
Both parties have mutually agreed that Sam’s tenure at the club would finish after the 2022–23 season, which Leeds United and Sam Allardyce can confirm.
Sam joined the Whites for the final four contests of the season, but despite heroic efforts against Manchester City and Newcastle United, the team’s goal of remaining in the Premier League was not accomplished.
