A video of a man dancing to a Bollywood song has been circulating on social media, with users claiming that the person in the video is Saurabh Kirpal, a senior advocate and LGBTQIA+ activist.
But, the fact-checking website BOOM has discovered that the man in the video is actually Damandeep Singh Chaudhary, the head of a talent agency and a digital content creator who frequently uploads dancing videos on Instagram.
Those who shared the video, in which Chaudhary is seen dancing to the song “Sajna: Say Yes to the Dress” by Badshah and Payal Dev, have mistakenly named Kirpal. The posts have been accompanied by tasteless comments, with some suggesting that Kirpal’s potential appointment as Chief Justice of India (CJI) is the reason for the Supreme Court’s focus on the same-sex marriage case.
