The Laver Cup was established through a collaboration between Tennis Australia and Jorge Paulo Lemann, a Brazilian businessman and former Davis Cup participant, and Roger Federer’s management group, TEAM8.

Federer was a key contributor to the Laver Cup competition’s establishment in 2017. In a replica of the tennis “Ryder Cup,” a European team will face off against a team from the rest of the world. The event has been held annually since 2017 except in 2020, when the COVID-19 epidemic necessitated its postponement. Boston (2021), Geneva (2019), Chicago (2018), and Prague have all hosted competitions thus far (2017). For the first time, London will host the fifth iteration of the event in 2021.

Laver Cup 2022 Points Table And Prize Money Distribution
Each member of the winning team receives $250,000 in prize money in addition to guaranteed participation fees based on the players’ ATP rankings, but the competition itself does not contribute to the participants’ ATP Tour point totals for that particular year.
