Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has confirmed his participation in the upcoming Diamond League meet in Lausanne on August 22. Despite nursing a long-standing groin injury, Chopra secured a silver medal at the recently concluded Paris Olympics, adding to his historic gold from the Tokyo Games three years ago.

As per the schedule, the Lausanne Diamond League will begin on August 22, 2024, at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise in Lausanne, Switzerland. Now in its fifteenth season, the 2024 Diamond League will showcase multiple Olympic champions and medalists, including Letsile Tebogo, Femke Bol, and Fred Kerley. Tebogo is set to compete in the 200m dash against notable athletes such as Kerley and Erriyon Knighton.
Bol, a 400m hurdles Olympic medalist, will participate in her specialty event in Lausanne. In the 800m race, Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi will face off against world champion Marco Arop. Mondo Duplantis, who set a world record of 6.25m during the Paris Olympics, will be competing in the pole vault event.
