25 year Lalela Mswane started her pageantry professional career after participating in the Matric Experience in year 2015 pageant, where she completed as the first runner-up. Her height stands at 5 feet 7 inches. She is unmarried and single as well with her not having a boyfriend.
Mswane hails from Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Lalela’s father was Muntu Mswane, he was an Eswatini-born former diplomat and minister who unfortunately died in 2010, while her mother Hleliselwe worked as an accounts clerk and homemaker.
She is the youngest of three children, having an elder brother and sister. After finishing her secondary education at the Pro Arte Alphen Park in 2015, Lalela Mswane did her studies at the University of the Pretoria, later on, did her graduate with a Bachelor of Laws degree. Prior to becoming Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane served as a professional model signed to the South African modeling agency of Alushi Models.

Lalela Mswane received huge widespread criticism within South Africa for agreeing to compete in Miss Universe of 2021, which was set to be held in Israel, due to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
Apart from this criticism, the official Instagram account for Miss South Africa confirmed in a post with comments disabled that Mswane would still be competing. On the 14th of November in 2021, the government of South Africa withdrew its support for Mswane to compete in Miss Universe 2021.
On the 15th of February in year 2022, the Miss SA Organization declared that Mswane will also represent South Africa at Miss Supranational 2022 which she won on 15th July 2022. In doing so she became the first black woman ever to win and 2nd African woman to win Miss Supranational after Chanique Rabe. This also marked a back-to-back win for Africa.
