The Suns’ contingent has been left bereaved with the decision making going on in the Lakers Vs Suns’ first round series against the LA Lakers

The first-round playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns has been one of the most hotly and feisty contested series. Both the sides’ players have gone at loggerheads on a string of occasions to add to the competitiveness of a series which is finely poised at 2-1.

Playing a massive role in the two teams sparring is the horrid officiating on show. Both the clubs have expressed their angst with the calls made by the referees on manifold occasions, beleaguerment which has spilled onto the court in the form of squabbles with the opposition.

Lakers Vs Suns First-Round Series

Staring in game 1 when Suns guard Cam Payne was ejected after a showdown with Lakers guard Alex Caruso and centre Montrezl Harrell, the feuds continued In game 2 as well. Suns forward Jae Crowder received his second foul after Anthony Davis extended his leg during a shot and made contact with Crowder’s groin.

Crowder was called out for a shooting foul for making contact with Davis’ arm while Davis was handed a flagrant foul. In the aftermath of the incident, Crowder had gone onto like a tweet which said Anthony Davis’ ring was fake.

Game 3 saw things take a turn for the worse with the Phoenix Sun’s Devin Booker being ejected along with Jae Crowder. Booker had ended up pushing Dennis Schroder during his layup attempt with Crowder deciding to jump in ensuing the foul.

The Suns’ ire was owing to the teams dismay at the ever growing list of officiating decisions. The Suns believe they have come up on the short side of the stick way too often in the series with the Lakers being blatantly favoured.

Suns’ Monty Williams Calls For Calm

The Suns’ coach, Monty Williams has now opened up on his side losing its balance and calm. Williams was quick to hammer home the point that his side needed to maintain a balanced head and not indulge in the shenanigans of the Lakers’ players and the referees.

“I spent some time yesterday talking about the energy that we have to focus on the game and not the silliness that’s going on with words that are said on the floor, fouls that don’t go our way. There has to be a poise,” Williams said.

The Suns are currently 2-1 down in the series after losing game 3. Game 4 will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
