His varied skill set has already been providing him and his team with some incredible results.

Record Breaking QB

Moreover, he is also the first quarterback to record 30 touchdown passes in each of his first two seasons. The LA Chargers play in an AFC West division that looks incredibly solid and tough to get past this season.

Hence, it was safe to assume that coming into 2022 season, the team would make it back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2018 season with Herbert playing a big part of it.

Justin Herbert Suffers A Hard Hit Injury

Justin Herbert suffered a very worrying injury in their Thursday Night game last week against division rivals Kansas City Chiefs. In the thrilling game played out at Arrowhead, Justin took a big hit to the ribs from Mike Danna forcing him to miss a couple of plays.

Even when he came back out, he seemed visibly distraught and struggled to keep up. Head coach Brandon Staley stated that the injury didn’t look to be too serious.

However, there have been some stated concerns. NFL writer Peter King, felt like the hit might impact his health and his play in the long-run.

Injury concerns aside, the Chargers are all set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday, and having lost to the Chiefs last week, they strongly need a win to try to keep up with them. Luckily, there seems to be positive news coming from Justin Herbert’s injury update for now.

The “Signs Are Positive”

While speaking on Good Morning Football, reporter Ian Rapaport noted that while Herbert has been limited in practice this week, the ‘signs are positive’ when it comes to his health ahead of their game this week.

This is good news for the Chargers and hopefully the injury does not affect his play too much. But, all things considered, an 80% fit Herbert is still better than a lot of the rest of the NFL players.
