Kyle Pitts missed training following his knee injury, and Falcons coach Arthur Smith declared him “out in the immediate term” on Monday. According to NFL Network, Pitts tore the medial collateral ligament in his knee, which usually takes at least six weeks to heal. The Falcons still have seven games left in the regular season.
Before choosing whether to have surgery on his knee, Pitts is getting a second opinion. Pitts was placed on injured reserve by the Falcons on Monday afternoon, meaning he will miss a minimum of four games and could even end up being on the injury bed for the remainder of the season due to his MCL tear.
After collecting 68 receptions for 1,026 yards and one touchdown as a rookie, Kyle Pitts, the fourth-overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Florida, was selected for the Pro Bowl. Since the majority of the Falcons’ passing numbers are down from a year ago, he has been used less this season.
In total, Kyle Pitts has 28 receptions for 356 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to suffering an injury, Pitts was Atlanta’s top receiver in the win over Chicago, hauling in three passes for 43 yards. Pitts has had a difficult season; his catch percentage plummeted from 62% of targets in his debut season to 47% this year.
Atlanta Falcons defeated Chicago Bears by 27-24

With this victory, the Falcons are only.5 points behind the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons will now face the Washington Commanders on November 27th.
