Feeling bad for Kyle Jamieson.
Recurrence of stress fracture (suspected) of the back that he suffered in Eng.
Goes back to perhaps Shoaib's point. Front-on (or mixed) action – 'no compensation' or buffer. Once you pick up a back injury, "chhodta nahi piche usse".

News Alert 🚨: Kyle Jamieson has been ruled out of the test series against England due to a suspected back stress-fracture.
Matt Henry will miss the first test as he waits for the birth of his child.

Prior to the new injury update, Jamieson had been undergoing treatment for the previous eight months with a back issue.
Now the player seems to suffering from a stress fracture, and will likely miss out on action for a couple more months. As of now, CSK are still yet to announce the season’s replacement for Jamieson.
Kyle Jamieson injury update
Kyle Jamieson had to sit out on international cricket since June last year, after sustaining his back injury in England. As such, the 29-year-old was expected to participate in least one of the upcoming Test matches.
However, team officials discovered a second fracture when conducting some tests ahead of the opening game in Mount Maunganui. Jamieson will now have to travel back to Christchurch for more evaluation and sit out the upcoming games.
Gary Stead, the head coach of New Zealand, remarked:
It’s really gutting for Kyle to have this happen after he’d put so much hard work in to getting himself back on the park,”.
“Since the injury in June we’ve certainly taken a cautious approach to managing his return with regular monitoring by our medical staff which has included scans.
“While Kyle’s not feeling any pain, the evidence is pretty clear he has a stress fracture and so he’ll return to Christchurch today and have a CT scan on Friday before we decide on the next steps.”
Kyle Jamieson could possibly miss IPL 2023
Jamieson sustained the same issue last year during New Zealand’s tour of England last year around June. Now again, the injury seems to have returned to trouble him for a second time. Moreover, the injury is a problem not only for his national side, but also for IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.
This is because the CSK pacer could now possibly miss the upcoming IPL 2023 set to take place around April. The four-time IPL champions primarily focused on acquiring all-rounders, during the IPL auction to address problems regarding Jamieson’s injury. As of now, the team haven’t announced a replacement, but their alternatives currently include Maheesh Theekshana, Nishant Sindhu, Tushar Deshpande, and Matheesha Pathirana.
