He then joined the Maple Leafs in 2014 as an assistant general manager. Dubas played a major role in helping the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League (AHL). Under his guidance, the team won the prestigious Calder Cup as the 2018 AHL champions. When he was hired, Dubas became the second-youngest general manager in NHL history.
Back in 2015, Dubas received the Brock’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2015 in recognition of his post-graduation accomplishments. Following the award and his success, many other students reportedly expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps, leading to a rise in the popularity of the Sports Management program at Brock University.
