The artistes of Suramya, an Institution of Performing Arts, trained by renowned Kuchipudi exponent Guru Meenu Thakur, presented a Kuchipudi performance at the Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium, New Delhi
The artistes commenced the programme with Shiva Stuti depicting the valour and power of Lord Shiva, followed by Krishna Kala Amritham, a Kuchipudi dance drama, depicting the life and miracles of Lord Krishna. The dance drama culminated with dancers enacting the Gita Upadesha given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
The choreography of Guru Meenu Thakur was immaculate and the artistes displayed skill and perfect sense of coordination. In the other pieces like Manduka Shabdam and Dashavataram, the dancers explored the extent of powerful kinetics.
The presentation of the artistes was appreciated by the audience. The eminent guests from the field of art and culture like Sh. Sanjeev Kapoor, who graced the programme, appreciated the efforts of Guru Meenu Thakur in propagating Indian culture through Kuchipudi dance.
