The pilot Ghost of Kyiv flying the MiG-29 allegedly shot down a total of six Russian jets in the air. The Clips of the so-called “Ghost of Kyiv” have spread all around as wildfire on social media handles. Several people on Twitter are calling the Ukrainian pilot the “first European ace since World War II.” One post has claimed that the pilot shot down several of the Russian planes. The reports claim that he has taken down the two SU-35s, one SU-27, one MiG-29, and two SU-25s jets.

In aerial warfare, an “ace” is a pilot who has shot down five or more aircraft during combat. However, the authenticity of the clips that are going viral hasn’t been confirmed. No Ukrainian authority has confirmed it yet that the Ghost of Kyiv is the real one.
Moreover, this did not prevent the former politicians and the diplomats from celebrating their victory. The Former president, Petro Poroshenko also uploaded a photo to claim that the pilot was the “Ghost of Kyiv”.
Also the Ukrainian ambassador to the European Union, Mykola Tochytskyi mentioned in a tweet that, “One Ukrainian MiG-29 jet fighter pilot scored a total of six victories in a single day in the battles at the air with the Russians.” He has been nicknamed the “Ghost of Kyiv.”
He has said that this victory is nothing less than an example of the willingness of the people of Ukraine to resist. He also added that the people across the globe should join this war for freedom and help Ukraine.
While pilot is yet to be identified, it is being said he is fake with it just war propaganda by Ukraine to show a strong image of their country. Some of the viral videos have been put to the sword emerging of the pilot with Snopes affirming that the video is a scene from Digital Combat Simulator, a free-to-play combat-simulation video game.
