Wing Commander Varun Singh (27987) (Flying Pilot) is a pilot in a Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Squadron. He was awarded the Shaurya Chakra on this year’s Independence Day for an act of exceptional gallantry. He rescued the LCA Tejas fighter aircraft during an air emergency in 2020.
As per the reports it is reported that Officer Varun Singh’s condition is critical and he is also said to be on a life support but his vitals are said to have stabilized as he continues treatment at the hospital.

His father’s name is K.P. Singh who is retired from the Army Air Defence while mother is Uma Singh and Varun is from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh. He had won the Shaurya Chakra on 15 August, 2021. He is married and has two children, a daughter and son.
