The Tokyo Paralympics 2020 symbol is known as the ‘Three Agitos’. The Latin term ‘Agitos’ is ‘I move’. The symbol represents the movement of the Paralympic athletes. It also means that the Paralympic athletes keep on moving, travelling, no matter what.

Agitos displays that the Paralympians travel the world and meet each other at every Paralympic event, in spite of fighting difficulties and facing obstacles in life. The three lines- namely red, blue and green portray four principles of the Paralympics: Courage, Determination, Inspiration and Equality. Apart from that, the bend of the three lines expresses the spirit of the Paralympic movement.

The logo of the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics was disclosed on 25 April 2016. The Paralympic logo includes a hand fan in a circular structure, loaded up with an indigo-hued checkerboard design. The design displays elegance and complexity that personifies Japan as a country. The figures substituted the past logo that had been rejected because of charges that it counterfeited the logo of the Théâtre de Liège in Belgium.
