The inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025 will be held in the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 to January 19 with the tickets now available
Six continents will be represented by 16 teams in the men’s and women’s categories at this historic Kho Kho World Cup event. The competition is an important milestone in the globalization of Kho Kho, an Indian sport with a long history.
This historic event will feature 24 teams in all. India is predicted to start as the favorite in both divisions, and the teams will be split into groups according to their rankings. Two stunning trophies will be on display at the World Cup: a green trophy for the women’s competition and a blue trophy for the men’s title.

In a lavish ceremony held at the IGI Stadium in Delhi, the mascots Tara and Tejas unveiled the trophy for the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup. Twenty women and twenty men will compete in the World Cup, which is set to take place from January 13 to 19, 2025.

While Bangladesh is traveling despite recent difficulties, Canada is not one of the teams participating in the huge event. Furthermore, Sudhanshu Mittal, president of the Kho Kho Federation of India, is optimistic that Pakistan will participate in the competition.
“Canada is not a part of the tournament. Bangladesh is certainly coming, and Pakistan is under consideration. I would say that I would be very hopeful and positive about the participation of Pakistan,” he said.
According to MS Tyagi, general secretary of the Kho Kho Federation of India, this competition would open the door for the sport to gain international recognition.

From the comfort of their homes, spectators can watch the action live. While Dinsey+Hotstar will broadcast the event live, fans may watch the full competition on Doordarshan and Star Sports Network on TV.
Teams from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia will be well-represented in the men’s event. England and the Netherlands will participate from Europe, while Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa will represent Africa. Brazil and Australia will represent South America and Oceania, respectively, while Canada and the United States will represent North America.
