From 19th January till 31st January, the Khelo India Youth Games is set to unfold at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, making it the first-ever edition to be hosted in South India. This sporting extravaganza will span across four cities in Tamil Nadu – Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore. With more than 5600 athletes participating, the event encompasses 26 diverse sporting disciplines.

2023 Khelo India Youth Games latest results, schedule, date, venue, events, medal winners list

Tamil Nadu achieved two gold medals on the inaugural day of the 6th Khelo India Youth Games, with West Bengal and Delhi each grabbing one gold. Devesh K and Sarvesh K secured the Games’ first gold in the boys’ Yogasana Rhythmic Pair category at Rajarathinam Stadium, while Megha Maity and Urmee Samata from West Bengal emerged victorious in the corresponding girls’ section.

In the boys’ Epee category at TNPESU Table Tennis Hall, Anbless Gowin N triumphed by defeating Zenith SH of Manipur with a score of 15-11. Simultaneously, Khanak Kaushik of Delhi clinched gold in girls’ Sabre Fencing by defeating Himanshi Negi of Haryana with a score of 15-9. Contributing a bronze medal for the hosts in the girls’ Rhythmic Pairs event were Oviyea C and Shivani D, achieving a total score of 128.32 points. In girls’ Sabre, fencer Jefarlin JS secured the bronze.

Devesh and Sarvesh showcased outstanding coordination and stability, clinching first place in the Rhythmic Pair competition with a score of 127.89 points. Avarjit Saha and Nil Sarkar from West Bengal secured the silver medal, earning a score of 127.57, while Khush Ingole and Yadnesh Wankhede from Maharashtra claimed the bronze with 127.20 points.
