Khelo India Winter Games 2023: Schedule, date and live stream
From February 10 to 14, Gulmarg, a well-known hill region in Jammu and Kashmir, will host the Khelo India Winter Games 2023, the country’s top and premier grassroots-level multisport event.
Over 1,500 athletes from all over India will compete in 11 sports at the Khelo India Winter Games 2023, which will be held for the third time or you can say it’s in its third edition.
At KIWG 2023, there will be competitions in Alpine skiing, curling, bobsleigh, skeleton, snowshoeing, ski mountaineering, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, ice hockey, and bandy.
The first two tournaments, in 2020 and 2021, were jointly hosted by Gulmarg and Leh. In both years, the state of Jammu and Kashmir won the most medals.
2020 saw 76 medals, including 26 gold, won by Jammu & Kashmir. Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), which received 21 medals, came in second, while Uttarakhand, which received 13 medals, came in third.
At the competition in 2021, Jammu and Kashmir took home 34 medals, including 11 gold, 18 silver, and 5 bronze. Maharashtra and Karnataka, respectively, took second and third place.
The mascot of the Khelo India Winter Games 2023 is the snow leopard as itrepresents the rich heritage of the Himalayas. The purpose is to find grassroots talent and to host a nationwide state-by-state multi-winter competition.
