Khelo India University Games 2023 UP schedule, dates, sports list, state, live streaming telecast

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Uttar Pradesh have finally announced the schedule for the highly anticipated Khelo India University Games KIUG 2023

The upcoming competition will be a 12-day-long event and will take place across four major districts in Uttar Pradesh.

This year’s edition marks the third edition of the Khelo India University Games 2023.

Khelo India University Games KIUG 2023 schedule announced

The SAI in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Uttar Pradesh have finally announced the schedule for the KIUG 2023. While speaking at the occasion of the announcement, Mr. Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh stated:

“We are very pleased with the strong momentum the Khelo India movement continues to experience and are looking forward to welcoming athletes from all over the country to Uttar Pradesh.”

Prior to the start of the competition, there will be a grand opening ceremony in Lucknow on 25^th May 2023. It will then conclude on June 3 in Varanasi. The KIUG Uttar Pradesh 2023 is set to feature around 4,000 athletes from several institutions across the country. All the athletes will compete in the under-27 category to win medals in across 21 sports.

A total of 21 sports will be played at the 2023 Khelo India University Games.

KIUG UP 2023 venues

The upcoming event will take place across four cities in Uttar Pradesh – Varanasi, Noida, Gorakhpur, and Lucknow. 12 of the events will take place at eight venues in the state capital of Lucknow. Swimming, kabaddi, basketball, weightlifting and boxing will take place in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Meanwhile yogasana and wrestling will take place in Varanasi. Gorakhpur on the other hand will hold the sport of Rowing, at the Water Sports Complex.

However, New Delhi will serve as the venue for the Shooting competition. The Kabaddi competition will begin ahead in Noida on May 23rd, 2023. Some other events are also set to begin on May 24.
