From May 25 to June 3, 2023, the Khelo India University Games will take place. Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh will host the majority of the activities. In New Delhi, only shooting-related events are planned to occur.

Nearly 4,000 competitors, all under the age of 27, from 205 elite institutions across the nation will compete for 913 medals (276 gold, 276 silver, and 361 bronze), split across 21 sports, during KIUG 2023. Rowing had its debut this year.

The third edition of the inter-university competition is referred to as KIUG 2023. After winning the most recent competition, which was held in Bengaluru last year, Jain University is the current champion. Panjab University won the first KIUG title in 2020.
Manu Bhaker and Aishwary Pratap Tomar, two Olympians, are anticipated to compete in KIUG 2023. Additionally competing are wrestlers Sagar Jaglan, Anshu Malik, Malvika Bansod, and Diya Chitale from table tennis and shuttle.
