In recent years, the Jamaican national team and Manchester City both have benefitted from the exceptional play of Khadija Shaw. Notably, she is the all-time leading goal scorer for Jamaica by scoring 55 goals in just 39 appearances. Shaw began her football practice at the age of 10, and as she advanced in education, she earned a degree in communication from the University of Tennessee. She made the decision to forgo entering the 2018 NWSL Draft in order to compete abroad in Europe or Asia, despite having the possibility to play in the United States.
Before relocating to France in 2019, Shaw participated in WPSL competitions during 2018 while playing for Florida Krush.
