Kevin Durant to Phoenix Suns trade, contract details, length, salary, jersey number and net worth in 2023
One of the best scorers in history, Durant, spent four miserable seasons with the Nets after signing in 2019. He will now wear the number 35 jersey with the Suns.
The small forward had only one playoff series victory with Brooklyn before making his initial trade request in the previous season due to an Achilles ailment.
Even though Durant teamed up with James Harden and Kyrie Irving, two of the NBA’s top guards, the Nets still struggled. All three have already been exchanged, with Irving joining the Dallas Mavericks this week and Harden departing for the Philadelphia 76ers last year.
Durant previously achieved back-to-back championships with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018, and he was twice voted the Finals MVP.
Kevin Durant salary, contract details, duration and breakdown
This season, Durant has a salary of $43 million and an incentive of about $1.1 million. His four-year, $194 million agreement, which began this season, was originally signed in 2021.
Durant’s contract is valid until the 2025–26 season, according to Spotrac. In the final year of his contract, he does not have a player option. In addition to bonuses worth about $1.25 million, he will make $46.4 million next season.
Durant will be paid $49.9 million for the 2024–2025 season. He is now among the highest-paid players in the league as a result. KD is scheduled to earn a staggering $53.3 million in the last year of his contract.
A bonus worth $1.3 million and $1.4 million, respectively, is also included for the final two years of his contract.
Because of this, it was unexpected when Durant asked the Nets for a trade during the offseason. Brooklyn exercised due diligence in seeking a solution, but both parties decided to make it work this season.
