Kevin Durant Injury Update, Status, Report, History And Return Date Of The Brooklyn Nets Player

Know the injury update and return date of Kevin Durant who is at the top of the MVP list ahead of players like Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo

The team has 17 games left to be played before the All-Star Break. Not having Durant in the lineup for the Nets is a big loss for the team.

MVP candidate Durant had been very good in the previous season as well as at the Tokyo Olympics. Although The Milwaukee Bucks snatched the NBA title last year and eliminated the Nets in the semis of the Eastern Conference, Durant did not end his year empty-handed and managed to power Team USA to clinch the gold medal at the Olympics in Japan. The player who contributes in giving game-high points most of the time will definitely hurt the team in his absence.

Nets struggled in shortage of Durant against the Bulls and even against the Cavaliers who are sixth in the standings.

A report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN states, “There’s optimism within Nets that will be a four-to-six week rehab and return for Kevin Durant, sources tell ESPN.”

On January 16, Adrian reported quoting Nets that the basketball team stated Durant went through an MRI that suggested the player was “diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral of the knee.”

Nets told that Durant was hit by the injury during the second quarter of Brooklyn Nets vs New Orleans that was played on Saturday. The player will be going through the rehabilitation process to power him to full strength. Nets did not further state anything related to his return date or possibility.

Because of the injury and long term period absence of the player for the Nets, the player might be out of MVP consideration that will result in moving up other candidates on top. The chances are that Durant may miss around 20 matches for the Nets or might be back for the playoffs. But his absence is certainly going to restrict the opportunities for Nets.

Kevin Durant Injury History

The player has been very unlucky with his left knee since 2016 when he used to play for the Golden State Warriors. He suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise in the year of his first season with the warriors. The cause of the injury was when one of his teammates named Zara Pachulia fell onto him.

He was then forced to not appear for 19 games but bounced back when he returned to clinch the NBA Finals MVP.

Kevin was forced to vanish for six games of 42 for the Nets in the 2020-21 season and had to undergo knee surgery. The previous season, Durant was captain for the All-Star Draft but due to his injury, he was forced to skip the event and was replaced by Jayson Tatum and Domantas Sabonis from the Starting line-up.

The player is in the same condition same year as well and there are chances of him not appearing for the All-Star game. Sabonis, Miles Bridges or might be Pascal Siakam can be trusted as Durant’s injury alternate.
