After a 23-year wait, Kannur secured the coveted gold cup of 117.5 sovereigns, marking its fifth win at the festival. In the schools category, BSS Gurukulam Higher Secondary School from Palakkad’s Alathur secured the top position with 249 points, followed by Carmel Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram’s Vazhuthacaud with 116 points.
Reports indicate that VD Satheesan, the leader of the UDF and the Opposition, inaugurated the closing ceremony at Venue 1 on Monday at 5 pm. The event was further honored by the presence of renowned actor Mammootty as the chief guest.

2024 Kerala School Kalolsavam final day results, winner, standings, & top districts
On Monday, Kannur district secured the top spot in the 62nd Kerala State School Kalolsavam by earning 952 points. Kozhikode followed closely with 949 points, securing the second position, while Palakkad came in third with 938 points. Kannur district maintained its lead in the point table throughout the Kerala State School Arts Festival and finally claimed the championship after 23 years. This victory marks their fifth win, previously triumphing in 1960, 1997, 1998, and 2000.
Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kollam, serving as the host, secured positions within the top 10 districts, accompanied by Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, and Kasaragod, with respective scores of 925, 913, 912, 899, 870, 852, and 846. The latest installment of the school’s cultural extravaganza showcased the participation of 12,107 students across 239 events.
Kozhikode boasted the largest representation, contributing 1,001 students, with BSS Gurukulam HSS emerging as the institution with the highest number of competitors. BSS Gurukulam Higher Secondary School in Alathur (Palakkad), Carmel Higher Secondary School in Vazhuthacaud (Thiruvananthapuram), SVGV HSS Kidangannur (Pathanamthitta), and St. Teresa’s CGHSS in Ernakulam emerged as the leading schools, securing the highest points in the ranking.
