As the 11th Kerala Premier Football League (KPL) prepares to begin play in November, the state is expected to see a football frenzy of epic proportions. The Kerala Premier League’s tenth season included 22 clubs and numerous locations for the regular season’s games.
The teams who took part were divided into two groups, each with ten teams. Teams will compete inside their respective groups in a single-leg format during the first round. The “Super 6” stage, which will likewise have a single-leg format, will be reached by the top three teams from each group.
In the knockout semifinals, the top four teams from this phase will be guaranteed a position. Also, a one-leg competition will be the grand final. Here is all you need to know about the tournament.
In April 2023, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) had decided not to allow foreign players in State or district leagues and this will be the first KPL without them.
When is the Kerala Premier League?
Kerala Premier League is all set to begin on November 25 this year and the league games, should be finished by January.
Talking about the Women’s league, as per Kerela Football Association president Navaz Meeran, the ten seven-team events will start on December 5.
Where is the Kerala Premier League?
Malappuram Kottapad Stadium and Kannur Jawahar Municipal Stadium will as the site of 108 matches in the Kerala Premier League tournament.
The Kerela Women’s League will be played at Thrissur’s Corporation Stadium.
