It has been announced that the Kerala Cricket League will soon be joining India’s expanding roster of state-based franchise cricket tournaments, with its inaugural season scheduled to begin on September 2. The cricket-enthusiastic state of Kerala is eagerly anticipating the two-week event, during which six teams will compete at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

Although Sanju Samson will not be playing, fans can still look forward to watching Kerala cricket stars like Sachin Baby, Rohan Kunnummal, Basil Thampi, Vishnu Vinod, and Abdul Basith in action. The tournament will feature six teams: Alleppey Ripples, Thrissur Titans, Trivandrum Royals, Kochi Blue Tigers, Calicut Globstars, and Kollam Sailors.
Sanju Samson will serve as the tournament icon for the inaugural season, with Malayalam actor Mohanlal acting as the Brand Ambassador. In the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2024, each team will face every other team twice in the group stages. The top four teams will progress to the semifinals, where the first-ranked team will compete against the fourth, and the second will take on the third.
