Clement Kemboi passed away on Monday, October 7, when his body was discovered in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, hanging from a tree. Elgeyo Marakwet Police Chief Peter Mulinge confirmed his death, as reported by The Nation. The body of the 32-year-old was discovered in Koisungur village’s St. Patricks High School Farm after he went missing and has been taken for an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
In another incident former marathoner Samson Kandie was attacked by thugs on Friday of last week at his Eldoret house. He was taken to Real Hospital, where he later passed away from his wounds.
32-year-old Kenyan middle-distance runner Clement Kimutai Kemboi was born on February 10, 1992. He was 5ft 11in tall and 65 kg in weight.
Kemboi, who has been residing in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, rose to the limelight when he competed in the 2015 African Games in Congo.

Clement Kemboi’s occurs within hours of the nation learning that Kipyegon Bett, the former world U20 champion, passed away at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet County. Elgeyo Marakwet County Police Commander Peter Mulinge reported that Kemboi’s lifeless body was discovered at the St. Patrick High School farm in Koisungur hamlet in Iten, hanging on a rope fastened to a tree.
After the postmortem, the body was transferred by the police to the Iten County Referral morgue. Living in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Clement Kemboi gained notoriety in 2015 when he participated in the African Games in Congo Brazzaville and won gold in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event.

Clement Kemboi’s first victory on the international circuit came in the 3000 m steeplechase at the 2011 Weltklasse in Biberach, when he set a personal best time of 8:34.22. Over the following few years, he obtained top-three placings at a number of minor events and served as a pacemaker for races including the 5000 meters and steeplechase.
Kemboi won his first international medal in the men’s steeplechase at the African Games in 2015, drawing similarities to fellow countryman and Olympic gold medallist Ezekiel Kemboi. In the men’s steeplechase that year, Track & Field News ranked him eighth overall.
Kemboi got placed sixth and scored one point in the 2016 Diamond League season, setting a personal best of 8:10.65 at the Doha Diamond League.
