She was among 50 individuals who have been nominated by President William Ruto for high-ranking government jobs on the 16th of March. Omanga’s nomination was unsuccessful for the Nairobi woman representative position in the 2022 polls.

Millicent Omanga was born in 1981 and she was raised in Rongai, Kajiado. She finished her schooling at Mumbi Girls High School. After her schooling, she completed further studies at a Medical Training College. But she was not able to complete her course due to some financial issues.

Determined towards her career, Omanga Millicent later on enrolled herself in the subject of journalism course at the University of Nairobi. Later on, she finished a Master’s Degree in Commerce from the same university.

Millicent Omanga belongs to a family of 7 daughters. er father has served as a mechanic at the Postal Corporation of Kenya and he, unfortunately, died in a road accident when Omanga was 17.

Millicent first came into the limelight when she was appointed as a director at the KenGen in 2013. Omanga later entered politics and the field of business. Omanga is the owner of Milways Enterprises, which deals in construction, interior decor work, and important furniture. In early 2017, Omago stood for the Nairobi Women Representative position but lost to her opponent Esther Passaris.

In late 2022, Omanga further ran for the same seat under President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party but she lost to Esther Passaris again.
