Following Nelson Piquet’s use of a racial epithet at Sir Lewis Hamilton, Kelly Piquet has been the target of criticism. Nelson Piquet is a three-time F1 world champion. As he discussed Hamilton’s collision with Max Verstappen at the 2021 British Grand Prix, the former Formula 1 driver used the n-word.

“The little n**** [Hamilton] put the car in and left because there was no way to pass two cars on that corner,” said Piquet. “He made a joke. Lucky for him, only the other one [Verstappen] got f***ed up,” said the legendary Brazilian driver. Even though the comments were made last year, they were only recently made public, leading to significant condemnation.

On Tuesday, Formula 1, Mercedes, and Hamilton all denounced Piquet’s use of the racial slur.
In a statement, Formula 1 stated that “discriminatory or racial language is unacceptable in any form and has no place in society.”
Hamilton’s View
On Tuesday, Hamilton, for his part, used Twitter to criticise the three-time world champion and demand reform. “It goes beyond words.
“These outdated viewpoints must evolve and have no place in our sport,” the Mercedes driver tweeted. “All my life, I’ve been surrounded by these views and targeted. There has been ample opportunity for learning. The moment has come to act.”
Kelly, Nelson’s daughter, has faced criticism from Hamilton viewers, and many of them have urged her to denounce her father’s usage of the n-word on social media.

She is presently dating Max Verstappen and has a child with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.
A request for a response from Nelson Piquet has not yet been received. It is unclear whether Formula 1 will penalise the three-time world champion in any way.
