“Keep your ego in pocket,” Maninder Singh Asks Virat Kohli To Practice What He Preaches As The Indian Captain’s Form Regresses

Someone has finally had the courage to publicly call out Virat Kohli and his petulant personality with Maninder Singh hitting out at the player

At a time when Indian commentators, especially those of the ilk of Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Manjrekar are way too eager to stick up to Virat Kohli, Maninder Singh has decided to call out things as they are. Where a slew of so called experts have failed to properly address Kohli’s dwindling form, Maninder talked at length about the soup Kohli finds himself in.

Failing to score an international century for over two years now, Kohli is currently on a barmen run which has reached the 50 innings mark. More than his inability to rake up the elusive three figure score is Kohli’s absolute unwillingness to rectify his errors with him failing to even stick around for a meaningful period in red ball cricket.

Persistently jabbing at the ball outside his off-stump, Kohli once again lost his wicket to an akin delivery on day one of the third test match. Driving at a James Anderson delivery, Kohli ended up walking back to the pavilion for a sorry 7 sevens as Anderson yet again made his his bunny.

Maninder Singh Offers Advice To Virat Kohli After His Dismissal In The England vs India 3rd Test Match

As India were skittled out for 78 on the day, Maninder Singh sat down to talk about the country’s horrendous showing on day one of the third test match. And he dwelled into Virat Kohli’s form as well, talking about how the Indian captain was regressing at the moment.

“Before the Test match, Virat Kohli had said that in these English conditions you’ve got to keep your ego in your pocket. These are not flat Indian pitches, where you can just put your foot forward and start driving. And what Kohli preached, he will have to practice. Keep your ego in your pocket,” Maninder said.
