Despite not making a significant impact at the box office in the two Telugu states, Tharun Bhascker has purportedly turned a profit with his latest release ‘Keeda Cola.’ He adopted a frugal approach, producing the film with a modest budget of Rs 6 crores. This prudent strategy paid off as he successfully negotiated a sale to a digital platform for Rs 8 crores, ensuring a more secure financial outcome.

“Tharun displayed shrewd business acumen by securing a Rs 8 crore deal for the digital rights, ensuring his friends recouped their investments even before the film’s release,” a source disclosed. “Pooling resources with his friends, they managed the production efficiently, minimizing any unnecessary expenses, and their strategy paid off,” the source added.

It has been reported that esteemed producer and distributor Suresh Babu acquired the theatrical rights of Keeda Cola for Rs 4 crores. He orchestrated a decent release across a substantial number of theaters, with Rana’s team actively promoting the film. The film garnered Rs 50 lakhs on its initial day. Its success hinges on the interplay of dark humor and clashes of egos among the characters. We’ll have to await its performance over the next few days to gauge its audience reception,” the source concluded.

Tharun initially gained recognition as a director with the creation of modern, engaging films like ‘Pelli Choopulu’ and ‘Ee Nagaraniki Emmaindi.’ These projects served as stepping stones to establish his reputation as a skilled filmmaker. Subsequently, he had plans to collaborate with actor Venkatesh for a film, but due to a two-year delay, he opted to craft a smaller budget production to swiftly reposition himself in the limelight.

Keeda Cola release date, cast, plot

Keeda Cola was released in theatres on 3 November 2023. The primary lead characters in the film are portrayed by Brahmanandam, Rag Mayur, Chaitanya Rao Madadi, Vishnu OI, Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam, Ravindra Vijay, Jeevan Kumar, Raghu Ram, and numerous others.

Producers K. Vivek Sudhanshu, Saikrishna Gadwal, Sripad Nandiraj, Srinivas Kaushik Nanduri, and Upendra Varma are behind the film.

A man with a criminal past named Naidu (Tarun Bhaskar) is released from prison and he enters the ruthless world of corporate dealings. Jeevan Naidu, his brother wants to build a successful corporation. They use a cunning scheme to plant a cockroach in a cool drink bottle and blackmail the corporate owner since they require one crore rupees to accomplish this.

The runtime is just 2 hours, which is apt for this crime comedy but the main issue with Keedaa Cola is that it has a wafer-thin storyline.
