Kalvakuntla Kavithaโs Education And Family
Kalvakuntla Kavitha hails from Karimnagar. Kavitha is the daughter of the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Shobha. Her father is the leader of the Telangana Movement and one of the first chief ministers of Telangana state. Kavitha is married to Devanapalli Anil Kumar, a Businessman and they have two sons, Aaditya and Aarya.
She completed her B.Tech in CSE from the VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology and completed her degree of Master’s in Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Kalvakuntla Kavitha Professional Career
In 2003, Kalvakuntla shifted to the US with her husband after marriage, and later in 2006, Kavitha returned back to India to help out her father. In 2014, a new state of Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh and Kavitha’s father was the leader of the movement for statehood. In the election of 2014, her father’s party swept Telangana seats both for the state assembly and the national parliament and her father became the first Chief Minister of Telangana.
Kavitha has been elected as one of the first state chief commissioners of the state of Telangana chapter of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Association. With her appointment as state chief commissioner, became one of the youngest people to have that position in the Nation. She is also the 2nd woman state chief commissioner in India. She formally took charge at an investiture ceremony which was held at the BSG state headquarters based in Domalguda.
After the formation of the Telangana state in 2014, Kavitha competed in general elections from the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency and also won the elections with over 1,64,184 vote-majority. Later on, Kavitha took active leadership in protests and demonstrations organized in the support of the statehood movement all across the state of Telangana.
Kavitha was elected unopposed from Nizamabad Local Authorities constituency in the biennial Telangana Legislative Council which was held in 2021 for 2nd time. Kavitha took an oath as an MLC on the 19th of January in 2022.
