Kakegurui Twin Anime Ending Explained And Full Story

Netflix has just launched the prequel spin-off series, Kakegurui Twin through an outstanding global reception and has certainly made its way onto our Top 5 Summer 2022 anime list.

However, the last episode featured us a rather confusing game involving Treasure Chests, counting black stones and musical notations. Here we’re going to explain the ending of Kakegurui Twin Season 1.

How did Mary Win the Treasure Chest Game?

After the stone counting game ends with crushing defeat for Mary, all hopes for a lucrative school year appear to be lost.

Now, she’s about to become a House Pet and essentially a slave to Juraka, the loss is seemingly too hard for Hanatemari and Yukimi to witness as they left the room during the game.

However, Yukimi and Hanatemari suddenly came back bursting through the door with another set of Treasure Chests in their arms, Mary’s demeanour immediately turns from weak to wicked.

The treasure chest game had 3 parts to it. firstly, have to use the first map to find the chest, secondly, had to attend the stone counting game with Mibuomi and lastly had to use both Treasure Chest locations from the first round to find the final and decisive Treasure Chest.

The club has commenced the 4 floors, the location of Mary’s chest provided one axis and the location of Sakura’s provided the second which combined both locations on a multi-dimensional blueprint gave one final room and the one final Treasure Chest.

Whilst Sakura indeed won the first 2 rounds then she overplayed her hand and lost sight that the stone counting game might not have been the final round.

Kakegurui Twins Ends on a Defiant Note

As the group discusses the results of the final game in office, Juraka confirms the result of the game which gave the opportunity to Mary to join Full-Bloom at any time.

However, Mibuomi has a secondary agenda as he fired Sakura from the Council for losing her infamous win-streak.

Later, he reveals that their romantic relationship is just purely down due to their family ties, not true love, as marrying the 2 would make them incredibly powerful in modern Japan.

Immediately, he then asks Mary to join Full-Bloom, despite her winning the game only moments before, saying that he would never lose the opportunity to gain such a powerful new member.

Which ignites a fire in Mary, who slaps away Mibuomi and his offer of joining the Full-Bloom in a defiant manner. Later, Mary said, “What in the world are you talking about? Join a group led by a pathetic s*** stain like you?! I’ll never join! No matter what! Never!”

The credits roll on a fabulous 6-episode run Kakegurui Twin, but that’s not where the anime ends.

In a post credit scene, Juraka asks whether Mibuomi has given up on Mary or not, to which he replied with “nope, I’m quite smitten by her”.

Later, adding how “she’s definitely going to be a major player at our school”. He then ends the series by describing his strategy “why I need her to join Full-Bloom at all costs…or I’ll just have to crush her”.
