Police in the Bryan Kohberger Idaho murder case contacted KA-BAR, maker of the murder weapon used in the shooting deaths of four students at the University of Idaho
Company officials, however, insisted that they could find no evidence connecting Kohberger to any purchase. In accordance with the arrest warrant, police found Kohberger’s DNA on a KA-BAR knife sheath at the scene.
Director of Sales and Marketing Joseph Bradley revealed that law enforcement organisations in Moscow had contacted the knife manufacturer, specifically seeking information concerning KA-BAR knives and sheaths.

According to reports, law enforcement officials contacted KA-BAR shortly after the November 13, 2022 triple homicide and asked the manufacturer to identify the sheath used in the killings. KA-BAR then verified that it was legitimately theirs. They said no one by the name of Bryan Kohberger had ever contacted them to purchase a knife sheath or other item.
The sheath found at the crime site is compatible with a KA-BAR knife of approximately the same size as a seven-inch utility knife, which is generally used as a tool. The company boasted that it had been producing the blade in question ever since World War II. You can use it for hunting or for any other modest task. KA-BAR also offers wholesale and retail sales directly to clients.
Bryan Kohberger hiding evidence from the police
According to an arrest complaint, University of Idaho student Kohberger sought to elude authorities. By disposing of evidence at his parents’ house by placing trash in the cans of their neighbours. Criminal justice PhD student Kohberger hid trash that could have included his hair or traces of saliva. And wore gloves to the store to avoid having his DNA collected after the killings.
Evidence of this came to light after the probable cause affidavit was made public on January 5; it said that Kohberger was positively identified using his father’s DNA, which had been found in the family’s trash on December 27, 2022, despite having been thrown away in the neighbours’ trash cans.
