The Junior Kabaddi World Cup II will take place this month that will run until March.

Among the 16 teams, India is all set for its debut and will play in the competition for the first time.

From February 26 to March 5, 2023, Iran will host the 2nd Junior World Kabaddi Championships. Iran won the first edition, which was also held there, and overcame Kenya in the championship match to take home the title.

India will take part in the forthcoming edition and has already revealed the 32 likely participants, despite having been unable to participate in the previous edition.

Sanjeev Baliyan, the PKL 9 champion coach, will be in charge, along with Anup Kumar and Ravindra Shetty.

Many promising Iranian players who grew in the PKL during the first season came from that edition.

The top performers were Amirhossein Bastami, Reza Mirbhageri, and Mohammedreza Chiyaneh. Many young people (like Narender Kandola, Partheek Dahiya, and Ankush) who did well in PKL 9 are going to try to do well internationally as well.

In the just-completed PKL season, Narender Kandola set several records, with Partheek Dahiya surpassing strengthened raiders Chandran Ranjith and Rakesh Kumar in the role of the primary raider. The key will be these two, working in pairs with Ankush on defence.

The first edition had 14 nations in all, and the exact list of countries competing in the 2019 championships is still being finalised.

Of the few nations whose squads have been finalised, Iraq and Taiwan will shortly be updated.
