Julius Randle’s injury update

After suffering a left ankle injury with five games remaining in the regular season, there were worries that Randle may miss some time leading up to the Knicks and Cavaliers’ first-round showdown.

Bam Adebayo initially sustained an ankle injury when Randle mistakenly stepped on his foot at the end of the regular season.

This time, while blocking a jumper from Caris LeVert, the Knicks star injured herself.

The sequence of events happened with barely one minute and a half remaining in the second quarter. LeVert took a drive from the elbow and then chose to try a stop-and-pop shot.

LeVert’s shot was then effectively blocked by Julius Randle, who then landed from the attempted block and collapsed to the floor.

When LeVert made a three-pointer to continue the play, Randle was on the court.

Randle returned immediately to the locker room for assistance following the misfortune. During halftime, the New York Knicks announced that their best player wouldn’t be playing in Game 5.

In the Cleveland Cavaliers series, the New York Knicks are currently leading 3-1. But if they have a chance to move on to the next round, will they be able to win without Randle’s help?

Even though Julius Randle’s likely extended absence is unfortunate, it doesn’t seem like it will have a negative impact on the New York Knicks’ series with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

When is Julius Randle expected to return on court?

Julius’ status to participate in the team’s remaining postseason games is still unknown. In the interim, RJ Barrett and Jalen Brunson must step up.
