Although the cause of death was not stated, his spokeswoman Jennifer Fisherman-Ruff affirmed it. In January of this year, Jean Nicole Bass, his daughter, passed away at the age of 61.

Some Of The Great Works Of Jules Bass

Bass was well-known for his collaborations with collaborator Arthur Rankin Jr., who passed away in 2014, and together they created some of the most recognisable holiday specials ever, most notably “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” The Little Drummer Boy, Frosty the Snowman, and Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town were some of their other compositions.

The 1964 television series “Rudolph” is still in syndication. Bass previously told The Television Academy of the Fred Astaire-starring special, “The song (‘Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town’) was tremendously famous and obviously we had that in the show.”

“We created a scenario in which he was a young Santa Claus and followed him as he matured, making presents to distribute and eventually evolving into the Santa Clause that we are familiar with. But when he arrived, he was unrecognisable as a young man. Later, he developed a beard, but he was still a redhead, “he clarified.

Shot To Fame With The Holiday Special

The popularity of the holiday specials led to the creation of sequels, including “Frosty’s Christmas” in July 1979 and “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” in 1976. According to Variety, the team also tried their hand at the Easter theme with “The Easter Bunny Is Comin’ to Town” and “Nestor, the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey.” Their labour didn’t end with the Christmas holiday shows, either.

In addition, Bass served as producer on the animated version of “The Hobbit,” and he and Rankin worked together on “The Return of the King.” They also worked as producers for the popular animated series “The Jackson 5ive” and “Thundercats.” This marks the end of the two of them creating noteworthy stuff.
