Know more about Joshua Zirkzee as reports surfaced online suggesting that Manchester United are all set to finalize the signing of the 23-year-old footballer.
For those unversed, earlier, Italian sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano took to X and revealed that team United are finalizing the signing with Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for a whopping transfer fee.

According to Romano, United have reached an agreement with Bologna for Zirkzee’s transfer. Instead of paying his release clause, the club will pay a total of €42.5 million (£36m/$46m).

As per reports, the Dutch professional footballer will fly to Manchester for a medical on Friday before signing a five-year contract.
If United had triggered the release clause, they would have been required to pay the €40m in full but the final fee for Zirkzee is €42.5m, which will be paid over a three-year period.
While his salary at Manchester United is set to be 56,000 pounds per week, Zirkzee earned £19,000 per week and £988,000 per year playing for Bologna as a striker.

For those unfamiliar, Zirkzee had a productive 2023-24 season, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists in 37 games across all competitions.
Despite Bologna qualifying for the Champions League with a fifth-place finish in Serie A, Zirkzee will be joining United next season.
The Dutch forward made his professional debut with Bayern Munich, spending five seasons with the club, including loan spells at Parma and Anderlecht. He has earned two caps for the Netherlands, both during Euro 2024.

United are finalizing the details of Zirkzee’s transfer as they prepare for a pre-season tour in the United States, where they will face Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool. Zirkzee is expected to participate.
Zirkzee, who was also pursued by AC Milan, has agreed to personal terms and will sign a five-year contract with Manchester United after his medical.
The professional footballer is set to become United’s first signing of the summer.
