The Oklahoma Sooners pitcher was recently named the National Gatorade Softball Player of the Year after pitching a perfect 27-0 record with a 0.10 ERA and leading her high school team to a state championship.
Bahl was injured on May 6, the Saturday before the Sooners’ regular-season opener versus Oklahoma State; she had previously been in the circle.
According to Gasso, Bahl’s physical issue occurred during the Cowgirls’ series opener on Saturday. “During our pregame warm-up, she touched a ground ball, flung it, and something absolutely struck her lower arm,” Gasso said.
Bahl’s “torment has greatly diminished,” according to Gasso, who also said that she had spoken with Jennie Finch – the famed Arizona pitcher who endured a season with a damaged lower arm during her career – about her brushes with tormenting superiors and how she dealt with them.

Dave and Emily Bahl have a daughter named Jordy. Her father also spent one season on the varsity football and basketball teams at Doane (Neb.) College.
Her three younger siblings were Hayden, Broden, and Bryson.
In Papillion, Nebraska, Bahl attended Papillion-La Vista Senior High School. Jordy led the Monarchs to three consecutive Class A state championships and was named to the All-State team four times.
