Various reports, including one from ‘The Athletic’s’ David Ornstein, states that Henderson is leaning towards a move to Al-Eettifaq.
Jordan Henderson set to join Al-Ettifaq
The England international, who is currently 33 years old, would seemingly quadruple his current Liverpool salary if he signs a deal with the Saudi outfit. Moreover, he would reunite with another Anfield legend Steven Gerrard who was recently appointed manager of Al-Ettifaq. The team finished seventh in the Saudi Pro League last season and Henderson’s arrival would greatly boost the club.
Jordan Henderson replaced Steven Gerrard as Liverpool captain back in 2015 just four years after he joined from Sunderland. The midfielder has since exceeded all expectations ever since taking up the captain’s armband. He has enjoyed plenty of success in his role as the skipper. Under his leadership, the club has secured the Premier League and Champions League trophies, as well as the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Moreover, Henderson plays an important and influential role in the England national team under Gareth Southgate. Some reports indicate that is eager to reject a move to Al-Ettifaq because it could reduce his chances of making the England squad for Euro 2024.
Jordan Henderson Al-Ettifaq contract offer breakdown

Jordan Henderson to join the ranks of the world’s highest-paid footballers
If Jordan Henderson agrees to sign the mouthwatering deal with Al-Ettifaq, he would instantly join the ranks of the world’s highest-paid footballers. With a weekly salary of £700,000 only Neymar (£950,000 a week), Lionel Messi (£1m a week), Kylian Mbappe (£1.6m a week) and Cristiano Ronaldo (£3.4m a week) would be earning more money than him.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Jordan has a net worth of £23 million.
Other big-name footballers who have moved to Saudi Arabia
Aside from Cristiano Ronaldo, several big-name players have made the move to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks. These include Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Ruben Neves. However, if Henderson does decide to leave the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League he would become the first England international to do so.
