According to reports, the Spanish golfer inked a significant deal surpassing $300 million, marking another blow for the PGA Tour as it hurries to finalize an alliance with the Saudi-backed league.

LIV Golf has already attracted top players like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau with lucrative offers, but securing Rahm, the world’s No. 3 player and a highly popular figure among fans, represents a significant setback for the PGA Tour.
Lawrence Burian, LIV Chief Operating Officer, affirmed the league’s enduring presence, stating, “LIV Golf is here to stay. The addition of Jon reemphasizes that our League is not slowing down. We are continuing to invest and build aggressively for LIV’s long-term and exciting future.”
Reports confirmed by ESPN and Sports Illustrated, broke the news of Rahm’s move. While some outlets estimated the deal at $600 million, ESPN indicated that Rahm’s contract with LIV is anticipated to span more than three years, exceeding $300 million.
As part of the arrangement, Rahm will lead a 13th team for LIV and receive an ownership stake. LIV is reportedly recruiting more PGA Tour players to join Rahm’s team. Details about Rahm’s team are set to be disclosed at a later date, as mentioned in a press release from LIV.
