In the final moments of Stone Ocean, a chain of surprising occurrences is revealed. Heaven is a place where everything is predetermined, and Enrico Pucci, the main antagonist, is dead set on getting there. He intends to do this by pooling the Stand powers of everyone in the Joestar family. The Stand Made in Heaven, Pucci’s greatest weapon, speeds up time, causing the creation of a new universe.

Jolyne Cujoh fights fiercely against Pucci to thwart the latter’s schemes. In the heat of battle, Jolyne makes a selfless sacrifice in order to upgrade her Stand to Stone Free Requiem. She uses her newfound strength to momentarily derail Pucci’s goals by pulling at the threads of destiny.

The plot culminates with Pucci’s achievement of his lifelong dream: complete mastery over space and time. Emporio, however, is still alive thanks to the special power of his Stand. He challenges Pucci, and via the use of Weather Report’s Stand ability, he ultimately prevails. Because of this, the new universe develops in a way that is very different from what Pucci had in mind, resulting in another reality.

There are certain similarities between the original JoJo universe and the revamped one, but there are also significant differences. Characters like Jolyne who died in an alternate timeline are resurrected in new bodies. Thus, the events of Stone Ocean did not follow the same pattern, suggesting a new direction for the plot.

What Next for Jojo Series?

Now that Stone Ocean has concluded, readers are anticipating the next JoJo novel. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is the seventh installment and marks a significant departure for the series. The plot revolves around a horse race across the United States in a parallel universe.

The new cast of characters in Steel Ball Run includes Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli, who is pitted against formidable foes as they sprint to the finish line. The plot continues in the trademark style and quirky humor of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure while exploring ambition, fate, and new Stand powers.
