Before the start of the match, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma, verified the news by saying, “One injury. Not an injury actually. More of a precaution.”
Jofra Archer’s limited participation in training camp before MI vs CSK
After the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Archer participated very little in the training camp and just attended one session of practise before the match against Chennai Super Kings. Along with the rest of the squad, he went on the trip and took part in the pre-match practise that was held apart from the starting eleven.
The Mumbai Indians are under additional strain without Archer and will be keeping their fingers crossed for a swift recovery from him. Archer’s injury record keeps Mumbai Indians’ anxieties about the situation alive, despite the fact that they have no wins to their account and are missing key players.
Jofra Archer’s IPL 2022 journey with Mumbai Indians
During the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Archer was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for the staggering sum of 8 crores. This marked the beginning of Archer’s time with the team. On the other hand, he was sidelined with an injury throughout the previous IPL season. In the match before, he made his debut for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, despite bowling the required four overs, he did not record a wicket because he allowed 33 runs to be scored during that time.
The bowling unit for the Mumbai Indians appears to be understaffed due to the absence of Archer and Bumrah. As the squad prepares to play the Rajasthan Royals in their next match, the management will be keeping their fingers crossed that Archer will make a speedy recovery.
