Following his convincing TKO victory, Zhilei Zhang will receive a confirmed purse of about $350,000 in addition to 35% of the PPV sales. Joe Joyce, his British adversary, will return home with $500,000 in confirmed prize money and 65% of the PPV sales. Zhilei Zhang’s net reward is anticipated to be around $2,000,000, whereas Joyce’s earnings from this battle will equal $2,200,000.
Joyce had been hoping to fight Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk, but if a quick rematch can’t be set up, Zhang is likely to get those possibilities. Joyce will have many alternatives, and Dillian Whyte watched from the stands tonight, but this loss might stick with Joyce for a while, and there’s no guarantee Joyce won’t change as a boxer.

Joe Joyce vs Zhilei Zhang: match events & post-match reactions
Joyce, who entered the fight as the WBO interim champion, was a massive favourite, but it became obvious after the first round that Zhang would pose a serious threat. Zhang, who is a southpaw, couldn’t miss Joyce with his left hand in round two, stabbing the British fighter. Zhang remained patient after he realized that his left hand will suffice and Joyce’s vulnerable target would emerge as the champion battled to stay up with Zhang throughout the fight.
It was obvious that Joyce was running out of time to have any kind of impact on the fight because his right eye was closing as each round ended. After a checkup at the start of round six, he was given the all-clear to continue fighting, but more assaults from Zhang drew the doctor back to the ring, where he gave Howard Foster the order to stop the bout.
