His full name is James Arthur Boeheim Jr. He was born on November 17, 1944, in Lyons, New York, U.S. His mother’s name is Janet who is a homemaker, and his father’s name is Jim Boeheim Sr. who is a former army veteran.

He did his schooling at Lyons Central High School. Later, he attended Syracuse University, where he did his graduation in social science.

He married twice. He first married Elaine, with whom he has one child named Jimmy. However, they got divorced. Later, he married Juli Boeheim. They become parents of twin kids named Buddy and Jamie. He is currently 78 years old.

With the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Syracuse Orange men’s team, Jim Boeheim enjoyed a lengthy and fruitful career. From 1976 until 2023, he was the head coach at Syracuse, guiding the club to several successes, like five Final Four trips, three appearances in the national championship game, and 34 NCAA tournament appearances.

He also captured five Big East tournament titles and multiple regular-season Big East Conference titles during his time in the league. In September 2005, he was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
